free stations that server their local communities and beyond. Pacifica is KPFA in Berkeley, CA; KPFK in Los Angeles, CA; KPFT in Houston, TX; WBAI in New York, NY; WPFW in Washington DC; and over 100 affiliate stations.

Welcome to the new Pacifica.org - a completely revised website from Pacifica
Radio! This new site features more Pacifica programming - in a layout that is
much easier to use (and flexible) than ever before!
First, regarding the new look of the site, you will notice a set of icons of
the top right of the page - these icons allow you to customize the look of this
website, allowing for up to 12 color combinations (to allow you to make this
more personal ), 3 different font sizes (to accommodate for various visual needs),
and 3 page widths (to accommodate for different screen sizes).  customize your visit with these icons
In terms of content, you can find the most recent Pacifica program segments
on the new homepage, organized by current and important topics - currently these
segments are mainly Democracy Now!, and FRSN, but potentially, these segments
can originate from any of the 360 plus Pacifica programs.

Pacificas local station board elections have taken a particularly nasty turn. A group of candidates running for the KPFA local board have issued statements that contain little more than personal attacks on their opponents and station staff. A candidate at WBAI engages in blatant race-baiting. |

Nicole Sawaya Hired as New Pacifica Executive Director
(Berkeley, CA September 30, 2007) On Saturday, the Pacifica National
Board announced the hire of longtime public radio broadcaster Nicole
Sawaya as Executive Director of Pacifica.
Sawaya replaces the outgoing Greg Guma. She will be based out of the
Pacifica National office in Berkeley and will become full-time
Director in December 2007. She will begin phasing in mid-November. |
