UPCOMING PACIFICA NATIONAL BOARD MEETING
Houston KPFT staff, LAB and listener/sponsors host the Pacifica
National Board meeting on Sept. 20-22, 2002. Agenda and outside
meetings will be posted on this site as these times are confirmed
(the shedule is posted
here!). Most meetings will be held at the Warwick Hotel
at 5701 Main Street. Visit

All are welcome to a reception Friday evening, immediately
following the Board meeting(approximately 9:30pm). Saturday
evening activities at MECA(located at 1900 Kane Houston, TX
77007) include Ballet Folklorico, local musicians and KPFT's
Ray Hill as he describes the intriguing "Pacifica Escape:
from Ray Hill's Prison Years."

The Warwick is a locally owned Hotel and is the oldest operating
Hotel in Houston, since 1925. It has an exemplary record of
fair treatment of it’s staff-example, with our Allison
Flood of 2001, they sustained severe damage and were closed
for 6 months and yet paid their entire staff, including food,
beverage and catering full salary for the 6 month period.
It is located in a greenbelt area of Houston, surrounded by
public parks, Rice University and museums.
Valid for Wednesday through Sunday time frame.
$99 -plus a 17% tax-queen or two double beds-bigger room
and more comfortable for two persons (rollaway can be added
to some of these rooms for a modest extra cost)
$89 -plus a 17% tax-petite room- with one bed-small room
with a double bed- comfortable for one, tight for two. If
you need beds for two person, be sure to specify that need.
service from the Hotel- the Hotel has two (2) complimentary
shuttle vans available for guests to be taken to locations
3 miles from the Hotel, with pick up service for return.
We will negotiate priority access for Board members but it
is available on request for all guests.
Airport Transportation- the Hotel is serviced from Airport
Express Shuttle buses from both Hobby (HOU) and Bush Intercontinental(IAH)
airports; they are found right at or outside the van and bus
exits on the baggage level at both airports. Departure from
the airports is every half hour, with a round trip ticket
for $36, one way $40. Return to the airport is scheduled through
the Hotel concierge by having them call in your reservation.
They stop at several hotels enroute, so plan on a minimum
of a l hour trip.
