Starting originally at WMUB in Ohio, this former correspondent for Down Beat magazine tries to give exposure to new artists and to those deserving recognition for pushing the envelope. Jim currently serves as a juror for the Soul Train Jazz Awards, and is KPFA operations director. He is a respected recording engineer, and his sonic artistry can be heard in many of the live music programs originating from the station as well as remote locations. A former musician with the 13th Floor Elevator and Wilson Pickett, Jim swings like no other!
