Description: Spontaneous mix of eclectic sounds, interviews and live performances. Credits: Ibrahim González: Radio and music producer, musician, composer, voiceover artist, music educator, photographer and writer. The artist formerly and currently known as Ibrahim Gonzalez hosts a weekly two-and-a-half hour show, In The Moment. This program features live performances, interviews, an eclectic mix of music from the world over and sounds which are on the cutting edge. He continues to produce Readings from the Heart, audio arabesques of original writings from a Nuyorican/Sufi perspective. Couched within a blend of sound design and music, it is a provocative aural journey into soulful matters. Leading the Nuyorican Jazz Experience, Ibrahim Gonzalez, has been launched into performances throughout NYC as a result of his collaboration with the Carnegie Hall Neighborhood Concert Series. Presentations have included many community and upscale events throughout NYC. As a photographer, Ibrahim is engaged in a yearlong photo essay of his Northwest Bronx neighborhood, Norwood. The resultant images will be part of a permanent exhibit which will be hung inside the new location of Mosholu Preservation Corporation's, The Stone House, one of Norwood's neighborhood landmarks. Ibrahim holds two degrees in music; BA Music Theory and Composition and BFA in music and Technology. His experience in Arts in Education is extensive. With all of the whirlwind of activity, Ibrahim strives for spiritual attainment. He organizes gatherings which concentrate on self awareness, fellowship and community. As a Nuyorican Sufi he seeks fulfillment in work as a viable expression of art, understanding, compassion and spirituality.
