Having worked as an actor, writer, producer, and director, McNally’s film "Earth Girls Are Easy" with Geena Davis, Jeff Goldblum and Jim Carrey is being developed as a Broadway musical. A graduate of Harvard, where he won its highest academic award, he’s co-author with Hyla Cass MD of Kava: Nature's Answer to Stress, Anxiety, and Insomnia, and is at work on a book which asserts that health -- for an individual or a society – calls for dealing with systems instead of symptoms and focusing on root causes and upstream solutions.
