Description:
Progressive/Eclectic Soul, Hip-Hop, Jazz. Now in its fourth year, The Groove is still delivering what it gives best - the hottest music to be found anywhere! Giving local urban radio a shot in the arm, The Groove continues to prove there is much better music to be heard than what is being played on mainstream urban radio outlets. Each week brings exclusive, never before heard music from the under ground scene, as well as the hottest and most talented names in hip hop music. But...Groove's real forte is its' progressive/eclectic soul format - otherwise known as "neo-soul" (Note- The Groove is one of the first radio programs anywhere to encompass a true progressive soul format.) Artists such as Erykah Badu, King Britt, Shuggie Otis, Maxwell, D'Angelo, Esthero, Raphael Saadiq, Portishead, Goapele, Prince, Donnie, Anthony Hamilton, The Jazzy Fatnastees, Julie Dexter, and Dwele call The Groove home. Then, there is the X factor - you just never know what you might hear on this show: from Stevie Wonder to Hall and Oates - from John Coltrane to Nina Simone - a musical gem is around every corner.
