KPFT Program
Airs : 02:00 PM
Description: A well-respected member of the blues community for over a decade, "The Blues Hound" has actively worked as a contributing writer/photographer to local, national, and international publications. He has served on the Advisory Board and Board of Directors of the Houston Blues Society and is currently a member of the Blues Foundation. His on air involvement with KPFT began in 1997, at which time he established one of the most comprehensive music calendars in the greater Houston area. In June 2002, "Howlin' the Blues" was launched. The show's primary focus is to shine the spotlight on the latest and best releases in contemporary blues from around the world. In an effort to promote the area's vibrant live music scene, local and national touring artists are regularly featured. Other mainstays of the show include studio performances and interviews. "Baby Girl", The Hound's wife, serves as the show's co-host dispensing blues news, calendar info, and ticket giveaways. The show will celebrate its fourth anniversary on June 16th. Credits:
