Bush Defends Iraq Plan

2007-01-15

In Norfolk, Virginia today, not far from the US Naval base, several dozen active-duty members of the military held a press conference to call on Congress to end funding for the war and bring the troops home. The group is part of the nation-wide Appeal for Redress and will present Congress members with a petition signed by more than 1000 active duty military personnel. After announcing additional troops to the war zone, Bush defended his decision, and says he'll press ahead despite opposition from Congress and the American public.
