The 7th annual World Social Forum was launched over the weekend in Nairobi, Kenya - the first time the global social change gathering has taken place in Africa. Initially organized in 2001 as a counter conference to the World Economic Forum, the yearly event now draws tens of thousands of activists from around the world to discuss alternatives ideas about globalization, and solutions to the world's social problems.
