With Romeo Ramirez, Organizer, Coalition of Immokalee Workers; Marc Rodrigues, Student/Farmworker Alliance The Coalition of Immokalee Workers a grassroots organization of mostly Latino, Haitian, and Mayan Indian low-wage immigrant workers based in SW Florida ­ won its four-year boycott of Taco Bell in 2005. Now they are organizing to extend these precedent-setting gains throughout the rest of the fast-food industry in its McDonald’s Campaign. The Coalition’s recently traveled from Florida to McDonald's headquarters outside Chicago, visiting campuses and communities along the way bringing a clear message that to the fast food giant that Immokalee's workers are not alone in this fight for real labor reform in McDonald’s supply chain.
