Since the end of the Clinton presidency, the federal government has taken little action on the issue of expanding health care coverage to those who are currently uninsured. Now, after several states have proposed innovative plans to close the health care coverage gap, new coalitions representing a range of interests are pushing for the federal government to follow the states’ leads.
