On this week's Sprouts, author Gretchen Holbrook Gerzina tells of the remarkable personal history of an African-American couple living in western New England in the eighteenth century. The story is the basis for Gerzina's new book, "Mr. and Mrs. Prince: How An Extraordinary Eighteenth-Century Family Moved Out of Slavery and Into Legend." Gerzina also speaks of her encounter with the ghosts of Mr. and Mrs. Prince and her startling discovery that her own ancestors were part of the story.

This edition of Sprouts was produced by Francesca Rheannon, producer and co-host of "Writer's Voice" on WXOJ-LP in Florence, Massachusetts.
