Robert Knight and the Knight Report.. Robert: More resistance
to occupation troops in Chechnya and Iraq...a failed coup
attempt in Liberia...more turmoil in Zimbabwe.

Dennis: The open secret of Israel's stockpile of nuclear weapons,
its apartheid practices, the killing of UN workers and violations
of UN resolutions sheds light on a glaring disparity between
US rhetoric and actions to the rest of the world. While the
US has failed to uncover a single Weapon of Mass Destruction,
while it controls, runs and surveils a post-Saddam Iraq, it
continues to refuse to acknowledge the existance of Israel's
nuclear arsenal...We'll be speaking with Felice Cohen-Joppa,
the coordinator for the Campaign to Free Mordechai Vanunu.
Vanunu first exposed Israel's nuclear program back in 1986.
He was then kidnapped by the Israeli intellignece and then
imprisoned. He's been in solitary confinement almost ever
since...Felice, Welcome to Flashpoints...First of all, remind
people who is Mordechai Vanunu, and how did he end up for
almost 18 years in the Israeli clink? FELICE: Mordechai Vanunu
did a very courageous thing...(INTERVIEW CONTINUED) Website:

Dennis: Today, around the world, is an International Action
Day for Palestine. Palestinians and their supporters have
declared today, June 5, 36 years after Israeli re-occupied
Palestine, a day of protest against the ongoing Israeli occupation.
Today on Flashpoints, we'll consider the Israeli occupation
in the context of an illegal colonization like that of the
former apartheid South Africa. Oftentimes, the story of this
illegal occupation gets turned into a religious war, or holy
war, but at its heart, occupation is about stealing land and
resources and ethnically cleansing the Palestinians from their
original homeland...Here to talk about this is Michel Shehadeh,
community activist from LA and Emily Katz-Kishawi of the Committee
for Justice in Palestine, working on the US BOYCOTT OF ISRAELI
PRODUCTS...(INTERVIEW CONTINUES)

Dennis: In conjunction with International Action Day in Palestine,
the Middle East Children's Alliance (MECA) has erected a copy
of Israel's new apartheid wall outside of their offices in
Berkeley...Joining us to talk about the wall and the brutalities
of living under Israeli occupation are Uda Walker and Barbara
Lubin of MECA, and also joining the discussion is Rashad and
Ahmed, two Palestinian youth from Dahatia Refugee Camp on
the West Bank of occupied Palestine...UDA: The wall is being
built as a separation wall to keep Palestinians and Israelis
separate; but what it is in actuality and on the ground is
a 25-foot high, 500-mile long wall that will indeed separate
the Israelis from the Palestinians, but it's being built on
Palestinian territory...(DISCUSSION CONTINUED...PLEASE LISTEN,
ESPECIALLY TO THE TWO PALESTINIAN YOUTH -- ELOQUENT AND COURAGEOUS).
MECA phone number: (510)548-0542.
