00:36 Leslie Kean Intro: Yesterday, in Miami Beach Florida,
the NAACP held its 94th annual convention. Conspicuously absent
from the convention's presidential forum were George W. Bush
and three of the democratic candidates for president Dick
Gephardt, Dennis Kucinich and Joe Leiberman. Just this past
Friday, Dennis Bernstein spoke with Doug Ireland about the
man whom Mr. Ireland likes to call Holy Joe Lieberman.

Dennis Bernstein Intro: Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi,
has been in the news lately. He made some interesting remarks
to Martin Shultz, German Member of the European Parliament,
when Shultz raised questions about Berlusconi's media connections.
Berlusconi's response was to suggest that Shultz might be
able to star in a new film about nazi concentration camps.
We thought we would talk about Berlusconi - about that comment
and what is behind his empire and philosophy. Joining us to
do this is our good friend and Martin Lee, author of 'The
Beast Reawakens'.

Leslie Kean Intro: As George W. Bush wrapped up his trip to
Africa last week, his slick PR moves showcased his apparent
commitment to combat AIDS in Southern Africa. During his trip,
congress stripped AIDS funding by one-third and the strings
attached to these handouts by the Bush Administration grow
longer. Among those jumping on the bandwagon to appear philanthropic
is Microsoft Monarch, Bill Gates. Through smoke and mirrors
and his Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, it appears Gates
is working with big pharmaceutical companies which block the
shipments of low cost AIDS drugs to African people. Joining
us to discuss these AIDS offers by Bill Gates and George W.
Bush is our dear friend Greg Palast, author of 'The Best Democracy
Money Can Buy'.

Leslie Kean Intro: On April 22nd of this year, 52 people were
arrested outside of the Lockheed Martin plant in Sunnyvale
California, protesting the company's practices of developing
land mines, depleted uranium, nuclear weapons and directly
profiting from war on Iraq. We learned that those 52 protesters
are being charged $41,000 in restitution to pay for the added
security and the legal fees of Lockheed Martin. Joining us
to talk about this case is Daniel Mayfield from the National
Lawyers Guild. He's one of the attorneys for the Lockheed
52.
