Citizenship Through Marriage in Israel is Stopped with Noura
Erakat from Haifa speaking with Dennis. On May 12, 2002 an
interim policy for patriating Palestinians in mixed marriages
ended forcing such marriages to break up or leave Israel.
Previously, there was a gradual process of four years of patriation
which was rescinded with a vote last night in the Israeli
Parliament breaking up families with children who have been
caught up in the process over the last year and not yet completed
their paperwork, etc. Now husbands and wives and children
of mixed marriages have to split apart. One might wonder,..
is there a genetic code which will allow Israeli authorities
to determine who is an Israeli Child and who is a Palestinian
Child?
