"When you look at the Iraqi War, it was an armed robbery. The country was invaded, it was to get hold of the oil which in now taken over. Now the multinational corps have been invited to come in and buy up the Iraqi economy and export their profits. The thing now looks as it could be not exactly a Vietname War, but an ongoing Intifada... With body bags coming back, the $87 billion demand for money... I don't think it is going to work out. In the context of international law and the charter of the UN it is absolutely clear the war is illegal". This and more insights from Tony Benn on the US and Britain's role in the illegal invasion and occupation. For more Tony Benn viewpoints: his books and his biography.

Noam Chomsky starts with 9/11 and disects the US intention to dominate the world by force. It made it clear it would use this not only to control the world, but to destroy any challenge to equal or oppose this force... "The US had announced a grand strategy that begins with a fundamental commitment to maintaining a unipolar world. in which the US has no peer competitor, a condition that is to remain permanent, so that no state or coalition will ever challenge the US".- Foreign Affairs John Eikenberry.
