Today on Flashpoints:
US occupation forces in Iraq adapt Israeli tactics, using
helicopter gunships and fighter bombers to destroy the homes
and communities of alleged resistance leaders.
Also, has there really been a regime change in Iraq? We'll
take a look at a new book by Milan Rai.
And Kathy Kelly from Voices in the Wilderness talks about
the worsening human rights conditions in Iraq.
Also we talk with Larry Everest about the Iraq oil connection
and his new book.

A Lesson from Israel: Dennis speaks with As'ad
AbuKhalil, professor of Political Science at California
State University, Stanislaus, and visiting professor at UC
Berkeley, about US bombing and gunship raids in Tikrit and
Baghdad civilian neighborhoods that have destroyed at least
15 homes. By following Israel's example against the Palestinians,
it seems the US is provoking the same suicide bombing retaliation
that is the result of Iraqis' hopeless anger and frustration
and Bush's "bring it on" diplomacy. Iraq sees little
change from Saddam's regime, as casualties in the current
war are estimated to exceed 10,000. More commentary on Iraq
news at As'ad's website.
5:15 PM PST
Regime Unchanged: British anti-war writer and activist Milan
Rai talks with Dennis about Bush's London visit, the increasing
Iraqi anger and resistance to US occupation, the Bush administration's
systematic rejection of non-military solutions leading up
to the war, and his new book Regime Unchanged, about the US
dismissal of weapons inspections before the war and the subsequent
reconstitution of elements of Saddam's govenrment following
the invasion. More information at JusticeNotVengeance.
5:29 PM PST
Between Iraq and a Hard Place: A conversation with Voices
in the Wilderness co-founder Kathy Kelly. Dennis discusses
the worsening human rights conditions in Iraq under US deconstruction,
where terrorists are being created faster than they can be
destroyed. From the Thomas Merton Center where she is to receive
the 2003 award for VITW, Kathy shares her views on the escalating
opposition to the US occupation and the need for rapid military
withdrawal.
5:45 PM PST
Oil, Power and Empire in Iraq: Author Larry Everest, correspondent
for the Revolutionary Worker speaks with Dennis about the
implications of an accelerated timetable for empowering the
Iraq provisional government by July 2004, in time for Bush's
re-election campaign. More from Larry Everest
