Today on Flashpoints:
Sunni and Shi`ite muslims unite against US occupiers in Iraq;
We'll feature a report from our Special Correspondent on the
growing number of innocent Iraqis being killed by US occupiers;
Also we'll hear a report from Baghdad on what US corporations
aren't doing with the billion$ they've been given to rebuild
the health care system in Iraq; We'll also feature a report
from Nablus on new deadly attacks by the Israelis there and
in occupied Gaza; And of course, the Knight Report;
5:01 PM PST
The Knight Report: US revenge attacks in Fallujah, still off-limits
to the press, have caused at least 280 deaths and more than
400 injuries. The Pentagon says mosques are legitimate targets.
And Mujahidin squadrons capture 3 Japanese, 2 Arab-Israelis
and 8 South Koreans. Condoleezza Rice testifies before the
9/11 Commission, and West Virginia Senator Robert Bird blasts
the Bush Administration for blundering into the predictable
mess in Iraq: "More US troops in Iraq equates to more
US targets... It is staggeringly clear that the Administration
did not understand the consequences of invading Iraq a year
ago, and it is staggeringly clear that this Administration
has no effective plan to cope with the aftermath of the war
and the functional collapse of Iraq..."

Twenty-four hours in Iraq: Dahr Jamail on the ground in Baghdad,
interviewed by Dennis Bernstein, reports on the rampant fighting
and escalating kidnapping as militias take over cities and
blood continues to be spilled. US military attacks continue
to enrage Sunni and Shi'ite muslims now united in resistance
to occupation forces.

Tanks on the Tigris: Corpwatch Managing Editor, Pratap Chatterjee
files a report from Baghdad on the expectations of even more
resistance on Friday and over the coming holiday weekend.
"There's a lot of anger against the Americans and their
failure to bring democracy, their failure to be able to provide
electricity, their failure to provide any kind of sevices
in this country, and indeed the coalition of the willing is
becoming more and more unwilling" Also check out WarProfiteers

Palestine in Iraq: As'ad Abu Khalil, Political Science Professor
at the University of California, Stanislaus, compares the
US tactics in Iraq to the Israeli warbook. It appears that
such tactics solidify and expand resistance and fuel anti-occupation
anger. See Angry Arab News Service for more commentary
5:37 PM PST
Attacks Accelerate: Amer AbdelHadi, Manager of sister station
Tariq Al Mahabeh in Nablus, interviewed by Dennis Bernstein,
reports on increased attacks against Palestinians while the
US newsmedia is focused on Iraq. Daily harrassment, demolition
of homes, kidnappings and arrests in Rafah and Nablus, and
clearing of city blocks have increased in the last week. Hear
about the heartbreaking, avoidable killing of 12 children
in the demolition of their home as the Israeli bulldozer driver
refuses to allow their evacuation. Amer AbdelHadi also wonders
whether the attack on Jenin might have been a training exercise
for the techniques now being used in Fallujah?
