Hebron Perspective: In the first of a series of reports from occupied Palestine, Flashpoints Senior Producer Nora Barrows-Friedman on the phone from Hebron describes walking through the city from the bustling Farmers Market, past cement road blocks to barbed wire surrounding Israeli settlements carved out of the heart of the city from which residents were expelled, to the ghost town of empty barricaded and boarded-up former Palestinian homes, too close to annexed settlements for Israeli settlers to tolerate. Compulsory listening for anyone who has wondered what conditiond are really like in Palestine today.

Destroying Fallujah, Saving Fallujah: Dahr Jamail, interviewed by Dennis Bernstein, reports on the ultimatum given by US military to the people of Fallujah, and also describes the deceptive, dishonest and manipulative tactics of US soldiers refusing to remove unexploded mortars from a farmer's fields. A Life in the Party: April 24, 2004 marks the 50th bithday of Mumia Abu-Jamal and the release of his new book We Want Freedom: A life in the Black Panther Party. Jeff Meckler, of the Socialist Action bookstore, and national coordinator of the Mobilization to Free Mumia Abu-Jamal is interviewed by Flashpoints Associate Producer Solange Echeverria. Jeff Meckler outlines the circumstances surrounding Mumia's incarceration -a case which is symptomatic of all that is wrong with the criminal justice system in the US - and also the critical last minute developments that saved Kevin Cooper from wrongful execution in February of this year.
