The next major battleground for the Bush Administration
is the less certain terrain of the United Nations. The five
permanent members of the UN security council will vote for
a resolution outlining the terms of the weapons inspections
under which Saddam Hussein must adhere to remain within the
bounds of international law.

This past Saturday in New York City, women gathered in the
second annual conference organized by Women for Afghan Women
to focus on what is happening in post-Taliban Afghanistan
and speak out against all wars.

Noted intellectual and activist Noam Chomsky spoke Saturday
night at the University of Houston. He faced tough questioning
after his address.

Story: Spiritual Segment with Dr. Erieka Bennett
Throughout the course of the week we’ll talk with
people from various religious faiths about how they use their
spiritual foundation at this time of impending war. Dr. Erieka
Bennett, is vice chair of the African
Communications Agency. She lives in Ghana and serves as
advisor to several African heads of states. She dropped by
Pacifica’s WPFW studios in Washington today where she
expressed concern that a war against Iraq could be perceived
as an attack against the entire Middle East.
