Story: Police Brutality and Anti-War Activists Join Force

Today people around the country came out to protest police brutality in a national day of action. Activists calling for an end to police killings are joining forces with anti-war protestors, as they see repression in communities of color at home intrinsically linked to the pending war on Iraq.

Story: Daniel Ellsberg criticizes John Kerry

Daniel Ellsberg, who in 1971 leaked 7,000 pages of classified documents about the war in Vietnam, just wrote a book, Secrets: A Memoir Of Vietnam And The Pentagon Papers. On his book tour, he stopped in Boston and as he explains to a crowd at the Arlington Street Unitarian Church, he spent most of his time criticizing Massachusetts Senator John Kerry for his vote in favor of Bush’s war resolution.

Story: Contrasting views from Texas

Recent events in Houston have heightened local reactions to the proposed war on Iraq. At a Houston area high school, 7th Congressional District of Texas representative, John Culbertson deflected criticism at a town hall meeting about his vote to use force in Iraq. While in other areas of Houston, groups like Not in Our Name, have been organizing against a possible war.
