Story: Interview
with Iraqi Ambassador Mohammed Aldouri
The chief U.N. weapons inspector, on the eve of his departure
to Baghdad, said today that inspections will likely resume
on November 27th, and he urged Saddam Hussein to declare all
his nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs. The
United States believes Iraq has been illegally re-arming for
several years.
In an exclusive interview with Peacewatch, Iraqi Ambassador
to the UN Mohammed Aldouri says Iraq has been saying all along
that the inspectors are welcome in Baghdad. We asked the Ambassador
to comment on what seems to be a revision of the facts around
the exit of the first team of UNSCOM inspectors.

Story: Iraq Peace Team experiences life under sanctions
Recently, we spoke with Ramzi Kysia, a member of the Chicago-based
humanitarian organization Voices In The Wilderness. As part
of the Iraq Peace Team, he took up residence in Baghdad for
several weeks to live with Iraqis as they prepared for another
round of U.S. bombing. Kysia refuted the popular American
impression that the war would be welcomed by the Iraqi people.

Story: Black Voices For Peace protests Washington
Post’s lack of coverage of anti-war movement
As discussed on past programs, WPFW programmer and DC-area
activist Damu Smith created the organization "Black Voices
for Peace" in the aftermath of the October 26th anti-war
protest of 100,000 people in Washington. The group was founded
to protest the mainstream media’s lack of coverage of
the peace movement. This afternoon they rallied in front of
the Washington Post.

Story: Former UN Weapons Inspector Scott Ritter Criticizes
Bush’s War Plans
KPFK host Sonali Kolhatkar spoke with former UN weapons
inspector Scott Ritter recently. He says that the United States
didn't allow Iraq to rebuild its civilian infrastructure after
the first Gulf War, thus leading to death and disease amongst
the civilian population.
