The entire history of the Pacifica Network has been captured
in a 50 minute presentation including exerpts from many of
the men and women who were there in the early beginnings of
this unique network. We’ll have analysis about station
policies and why and how they evolved to their current status.
But first a little about the latest edition to Pacifica Radio…’Peace
Watch’. Peace Watch was born to discuss peace…
to promote peace, to preserve peace and to monitor those who
would seek to destroy the peace. In a recent broadcast of
this show…here are some of the voices Peace Watch listeners
were tuned to...Reporter David Goodman discussing a story
he contributed to Mother Jones magazine about public schools
being forced to provide military recruiters with the names,
addresses and telephone numbers of all public school high
school students…Immigration Attorney Jean Butterfield
on the slippery slope of so-called Homeland Security…
Tape:
Anti-war activist Diane Wilson, a member of the group Code
Pink…she’s been on a hunger fast in front of the
White House for over a week. And before that, Former UPI reporter
Helen Thomas who is now a columnist with attitude. Artists,
poets, actors and activists alike…all weigh in with
thoughts and musical renditions of their commentary on the
Bush administration’s war agenda…here is an example
of the creative expressions from Peace Watch…
Tape:…..collage of music/poets/actors 5 min.
Tape: 51 minutes of voices
