Story: Pre-emptive Strikes
A Bush administration strategy announced yesterday calls
for the preemptive use of military and covert force before
an enemy attacks and underscores the United States' willingness
to retaliate with nuclear weapons for chemical or biological
attacks on U.S. soil or against American troops overseas.
The strategy introduces a more aggressive approach to combating
weapons of mass destruction, and it comes as the nation prepares
for a possible war with Iraq.

Story: Landmines
In a front page story in the USA Today reveals that in fact,
the U.S. is currently stockpiling landmines in countries around
Iraq. And even though the U.S. no longer manufactures landmines,
taxpayer dollars continue to pay several private companies
to manufacture anti-personnel mines for the U.S..

Story: New York Times Anti-War Ad
An article on the front page of the Washington Post today
outlines a Bush administration strategy announced yesterday
that calls for a first strike and the use of covert force
before a perceived enemy strikes us. A full-page ad in the
New York Times, placed by the anti-war organization MOVE-ON.COM
calls on the administration to go slow with its war agenda.
A coalition of 175,000 major civic groups and individual Americans
urge Bush to “Let The Inspections Work… We Can
Win Without War” and the ad invites the public to call
the President and Congress members to make their point.
