Story: U.S. Congressman Charlie Rangel: Reinstatement of the Draft

One U.S. Congressman, Representative Charles Rangel from New York believes that the prospect of American soldiers in combat may give his congressional colleagues pause about rushing to war. So Rangel is introducing a bill calling for the re-instatement of the military draft in this country. Rangel says only one lawmaker in the House has an enlisted man in their family. Rangel and the majority of the Congressional Black Caucus voted against the resolution giving Bush authority to wage war against Iraq. During a conversation earlier today with Rangel we asked him to explain his actions that on the face of it sounds duplicitous.
