Former U.N. chief weapons inspector Hans Blix attacked the
"spin and hype" behind U.S. and British allegations
of banned Iraqi weapons used to justify war against Saddam
Hussein.
Blix, who said this week he believed Iraq had destroyed
its weapons of mass destruction 10 years ago, told BBC radio
that the United States and Britain "over-interpreted"
intelligence about Baghdad's weapons programs. In response,
the British government said it stood by the case it had made
to the public for going to war.

Discussion with Washington Peace Educator Rajeev
Kasat
The call to help create peace in the world is a calling
a young teacher in the Washington, D.C. area has been answering
for quite some time. 24-year old Rajeev Kasat, high school
teacher, poet and spiritualist has traveled around the world
and into the inner sanctuary of his own consciousness to study
and manufacture the building blocks for a peaceful world.
Rajeev says 'no matter where one travels they always remain
in the same place, unless they are willing to change.' His
thoughts are expressed in his book titled: "Trails"….
and his emotions are portrayed through his poetic works…some
of which he shared during his visit to our PeaceWatch studios.
Tape: Rajeev Kasat's book: Trails, was awarded the National
Certificate of Merit Writer's Digest Self Published Book Award
in 2001. He is currently preparing to leave for India and
expects his new book "Everlutionary" to be published
in the next few weeks.

"Beyond War" Documentary Series Part V
The Conclusions
Well, all this week on Peacewatch we've been playing excerpts
of a documentary entitled "Beyond War," which takes
a look at the real, human effects of war, not just on soldiers
who choose to fight, but on innocent civilians, who often
find themselves caught up in the circumstances of violence
through forces beyond their own control. In our conclusion
to the series today, we take a look at one potentially peaceful
solution to military action, the International Criminal Court.
Tape: Beyond War is produced by David Freudberg and distributed
by PRI, Public Radio International. If you'd like to purchase
a cassette copy of Beyond War by phone, please call toll-free
